"Helping Hands...Molding Broken People"

Proverbs 22:6 NIV says: " Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

Afternoons R.O.C.K. is making an impact !!! Afternoons Rock is an acronym for Recreation, Object Lessons, Culture & Values, and Knowledge.

The hours right after school have the highest potential for children to get into trouble. Reducing that potential is the motivation for this exciting new youth program at The Potters Wheel. About 30 students from neighborhood schools attend this program every Tuesday and Thursday beginning at 3 pm. Youth pastor Jason Miner teaches the students about substance abuse and making wise choices, following a curriculum called "Too Good for Drugs and Violence." The program provides assistance with school homework, as well as offering recreational activities with a focus on living a Christian life style. Transportation is provided. A meal is served on Thursdays and a snack is provided on Tuesdays. Initial funding has been provided by the Indiana Dept. of Mental Health and Addictions. Let's keep these precious children and those ministering to them in our prayers.

Thursday Night Youth Services

Thursday nights are youth night at Potters Wheel Ministries. Each week teens come in off the streets and into church for a special time of learning about God and His Word. Youth Pastor Miner preaches The Gospel of Jesus Christ to them, teaching the teens about the hope and promises offered to them through Christ. Each week teenagers come in with questions, special prayer requests and great needs. After each youth service the teenagers enjoy fellowship over a meal. At a recent service, over 50 teens were in attendance. Our prayer is that the power of God is released into these teenagers' lives.

The Wheel Youth Program at Potters Wheel Ministries is growing by leaps and bounds under the leadership of youth pastor Jason Miner. He has a strong anointing as well as solid credentials and experience in the areas of Christian education and counseling. Jason Miner joined The Potter’s Wheel as youth pastor in November 2006. Jason received his ministry credentials from the National Conservative Christian Church. He earned his master’s degree in education administration and is currently working on a doctoral degree in Christian counseling. Under his leadership exciting new youth programs have been developed to minister to inner city youth and teens.

Sunday school classes for children begin at 2:30 pm each Sunday afternoon. The children's Sunday School classes are held during the time of regular worship services at The Potters Wheel on Sunday afternoons. All children in the inner city neighborhood are invited to attend. There are classes for all age groups. The teachers at The Wheel provide excellent classroom programs for the kids. This is an excellent opportunity for inner city youth to learn about Gods love for them and how to develop a close personal relationship with Jesus. There is also a nursery for parents to drop off toddlers while attending worship services. The youth department is located in the lower level of the Potters Wheel Ministries building, accessed by the stairs.
